Tips & Tricks
Bellow, we have collected some simple tips and tricks that are sure to make your job easier!
1) We recommend using drywall joint compound with Texture-Peel patches which most hardware stores will carry a small bag/container of joint compound for small patches. Mixing the dry powder with water to reach a Peanut Butter like consistency will provide the least amount of shrinkage and still be workable.
2) Be sure you allow enough time for the patching material to dry before removing the Texture-Peel patch. Removing it too soon will likely leave you with unsatisfactory results. If you use a quick set patch material, we recommend waiting about twice the amount of time listed on the packaging. If possible, let the patch cure out overnight.
3) If the area to be patched is deeper than 1/4" you may need to fill the hole in several layers before it is ready for the final Texture-Peel patch
4) If you choose to use a premixed patching compound, you may need to wipe the textured side of the Texture-Peel with a damp cloth before placing it over the patch and rolling it. Otherwise the premixed patching material may not contain enough moisture for the Texture-Peel patch to stay on until it has dried.
5) Best of all! Texture-Peel can be reused, simply hand wash the Texture-Peel material after use with a mild detergent as needed.
